Junior Mission Statement

At Hadley Wood Golf Club, our Junior Section is dedicated to creating an inclusive, safe and family-friendly environment where young golfers can thrive. We are committed to building a strong community where juniors of all abilities can develop essential life skills, foster lasting friendships and grow their passion for the game. Through competitive opportunities and supporting coaching, we aim to empower our juniors to reach their potential both on and off the course.

AIMS OF THE JUNIOR SECTION

The Hadley Wood Golf Club Junior Section will:

• Pursue a non-discriminatory policy.
• Promote the Junior Section within the club.
• Provide the opportunity to play social and competitive golf in a friendly environment.
• Introduce and educate juniors with regard to the Rules of Golf.
• Introduce juniors to the etiquette of golf both on the course and in matters such as dress code and general behaviour.
• Provide an environment where juniors are encouraged to improve their skills and obtain official club handicaps, reducing restrictions on access to the course.
• Provide and encourage opportunities for professional coaching for our junior members and help them reach their full potential.
• Encourage junior members to learn how to play golf and be club members through active involvement with the other sections of the club.
• Encourage junior members to play in inter-club matches and competitions outside the Junior Section. We recognise that ability, not age, is the restriction to play in club events.
• Promote juniors who show the right attitude, behaviour and ability to the various county, regional and national bodies that are empowered to encourage junior golf development.
• Promote the game of golf within the rules and regulations of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A).
• Follow the policy of the R&A, England Golf and the PGA on child protection as set out in the booklet ‘Children in Golf Protecting our Future’.
