Course

Hadley Wood Golf Club is set in 265 acres of tranquil parkland with mature trees, three lakes, snaking ditches, and sweeping views across the Hertfordshire-Middlesex countryside.

Yet, from central London, it is a mere 30 minutes by train to Hadley Wood train station, and from there an easy 10-minute walk to the club.

Designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, the same architect who laid out the famous Augusta National course, home of The Masters, Hadley Wood contains many of the striking features which makes that Major tournament such a challenge. Trademark MacKenzie touches such as raised plateau greens, some of them sporting two tiers and guarded by strategically placed bunkers, confront the player at every turn.

The course plays 6,497 yards from the back tees, in the classic four par-fives and four par-threes configuration, and fully lives up to its par 72.

A splendid blueprint from Britain's Golden Age in golf course design, it's no wonder Hadley Wood is considered one of the finest examples of MacKenzie's design work at more than 50 courses worldwide.

As well as ranked 84th in the Top100 courses in England, it is also ranked 6th in the Top100 courses in London.

As part of Hadley Wood's commitment to an inclusive golf environment, the club operates a gender-neutral colour scheme for its yardage markers. Tees on each hole are represented with five colours - blue, burgundy, green, purple and gold - with separate yardages to the hole. (See scorecard link below).
