Hadley Wood Golf Club

Hadley Wood

Dress Code

Our Dress Code is intended to help enable everyone to enjoy a tranquil and convivial atmosphere, and all members, visitors, guests and societies are required to maintain a standard of dress in keeping with the character and standing of the club.

The Dress Code is based on the simple tenet that we expect golfers to wear ‘appropriate golf clothing’ on the course, practice areas and the driving range. In practice, this means any recognised golf apparel available in our Pro Shop.

For the clubhouse, this means clean attire appropriate for the event and as instructed by the event organiser who works closely with the General Manager and his team.

Hadley Wood Golf Club is not a formal club, but we endeavor to adopt the standards that generally apply at many similar traditional golf clubs.

You will be politely asked to to change or leave if you are unable to comply with our Dress Code.

acceptable golf course attire:
  • Recognised apparel made specifically to play golf. Polo/golf shirts must be tucked in unless specifically designed to be worn untucked (eg. some ladies wear).
  • Footwear designed for playing golf.
  • Socks need not be knee-length. When worn with shorts or skirts, they must be predominantly white or matching in colour of the shoe. White anklet socks are acceptable.
  • Smart tailored shorts - must have a waistband with belt loops and be cut just above the knee.
  • Smart tailored trousers.
  • T-shirts, football and rugby tops are not acceptable.
  • Track suits, gym leggings, and soiled or ripped jeans are not acceptable.

Acceptable Clubhouse & terrace attire:
  • Recognised apparel made specifically to play golf.
  • Clean footwear that is either 'soft spiked', smart-casual lace-up, or deck shoes designed to be worn without socks. Flip flops and sliders are not acceptable.
  • Members and their guests are expected to change out of wet and/or unclean golfing attire prior to using the Main Bar, Russell Room or Dining Room.
  • Caps and hats are not to be worn in the clubhouse. If caps are worn outside, they must have their peaks at the front.
  • The clubhouse has every facility required for changing into and from golfing apparel, so changing in the car park is unnecessary.

acceptable dining room attire:

  •  Smart casual apparel, not shorts or golf shoes. Jacket and tie may be required for functions with specific dress codes.

Mobile Phones

• Calls are not permitted in the clubhouse, on the terrace or the course. They may only be used discreetly in the locker rooms or the car park.

Thank you for your cooperation.
